How many famous Atheists do you know?
You probably can’t name many famous Atheists. Why is that?
Atheists generally don’t advertise their Atheism the way religious people advertise their beliefs.
For example, a Christian may wear a cross around their neck to symbolize their faith. But as Atheists, we usually keep it to ourselves unless someone asks.
Since Atheism is growing so rapidly, Atheists are feeling more free to share their beliefs.
There are now famous Atheist actors, Atheist musicians, Atheist scientists, even Atheist politicians who are vocal about their Atheism.
This should inspire all of us to find the courage to share (or even advertise!) our Atheist beliefs.
Who are some famous Atheists?
-
Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt is more than just a famous Atheist. He’s one of the most famous people in the world. And he’s not afraid to discuss his Atheism. When BILD magazine asked him if he believes in God, Brad just smiled and said, “No, no, no!”
-
Keanu Reeves
That’s right, John Wick himself is an Atheist. He once told a South African newspaper that he still thought of himself as an atheist — even after making Constantine, his supernatural thriller about demonic possession. But really, that’s a pretty silly question. Movies about demonic possession aren’t exactly good marketing for the church…

Seth MacFarlane
Seth MacFarlane is best known as the creator of Family Guy and American Dad. But he’s also an actor, singer and more. He’s been quoted as saying “I do not believe in God. I'm an Atheist. -
Albert Einstein
One of the greatest minds of our time, Albert Einstein considered himself a religious nonbeliever. -
James Baldwin

His take on religion (specifically American Christianity) was that it separated people instead of bringing them together.
-
Jack Black
While identifying with his Jewish culture, comedian and musician Jack Black calls himself an Atheist. It fills that void for me.”

Rapper and producer Tyler, the Creator, understood the trappings of religion at a young age, watching his grandmother giving money to the deacon — who didn’t look like he needed it. He has identified as an Atheist for a long time. His views on religion and God are a recurring theme in his music.
